Biometric Capturing System at SA Airports
South Africa is currently implementing its biometric capturing system at various Ports of Entry and all foreign nationals travelling through these ports are expected to have their fingerprints and a photograph taken by an immigration official at an immigration counter.
This could result in delays at airports and travellers are advised to proceed to immigration clearance as soon as possible to avoid any delays. It is, however, reassuring for travellers to know that three South African airports, Cape Town International, King Shaka International and O.R Tambo International, were placed on the OAG’s 2016 list of the world’s most punctual airports!
