Executive Relocations Africa Manager, Rene Webster was nominated for this year’s Regional Business Woman of the Year Award. The Awards ceremony took place on Saturday, 28 July 2018 during a dazzling event at the Lagoon Beach Hotel in Cape Town.
Distinguished guests from both the private and public sector attended this auspicious event which was hosted by the Business Women’s Association of South Africa (BWA).
The BWA has enjoyed a rich history of service to its diverse members through networking, training, mentoring and knowledge-sharing. It is recognised as a leading and most prominent organisation for women in South Africa.
This year’s theme fittingly titled, ‘The Economy is a Woman’ is a true depiction of the finalists – successful women in business who are at the forefront of gender transformation in the economy and their respective workplaces.
ERA Manager, Rene Webster, who was a finalist in the Corporate Category, said she was humbled and honoured to be nominated amongst some of the most successful women in business in the country.
“The corporate world remains a challenging environment for women. We continue to face more hurdles than men in the workplace but thanks to organisations like the BWA, we continue to make great strides in gender equality in the workplace. I’m really proud of all the women who have been nominated and I believe we can make a difference by raising the profile of likeminded inspirational women around the country.”
The BWA Cape Town Chairperson, Lerato Mgidlana congratulated this year’s finalists, calling them resourceful, innovative and great leaders of both their professional and personal lives. “Women are known as the backbone and pillars of strength of our society for many households both in rural and urban areas.
